Earth Defense Force is an action-adventure game developed by Japan's Bandai Namco Entertainment and published by SNK/ Capcom. It was released in Europe on November 15, 1991, and in North America on December 6, 1991. It is the first game in the Earth Defense Force series and the first game in the Super Nintendo series. The player controls a team of soldiers, pilots, and robots as they fight against enemy forces, including aliens, in a variety of maps. The game is a simulation of real-world warfare, with the player commanding their troops through a turn-based battle system. The game features an original soundtrack and sound effects. Earth Defense Force was the first game in the Super Nintendo series to be released in both North America and Europe.
